What test is used to diagnose tuberculosis?

Tuberculosis is diagnosed using the TB skin test or a TB blood test. If either of these tests is positive, a chest X-ray or CT scan is usually performed to check for active TB disease. Other tests, such as a sputum test or culture, may also be used to detect the presence of TB bacteria.
