COVID-19

COVID-19 IS A NOVEL CORONAVIRUS DISCOVERED IN 2019. IT IS SIMILAR TO SARS-COV, THE VIRUS THAT CAUSED THE 2002-2004 SARS PANDEMIC. THIS VIRUS WAS PROVISIONALLY NAMED “2019 NOVEL CORONAVIRUS” (2019-NCOV), AND LATER RENAMED SARS-COV-2.

Covid-19 presents a number of patient symptoms, including fever, coughing, and difficulty breathing and is diagnosed through the use of a lateral flow or PCR test.

Although there are vaccines which protect against the infection and which can limit symptoms if infected, there is currently no specific treatment for Covid-19, but most patients will recover with rest and fluids. In more severe cases, hospitalisation may be necessary.

Due to its increased sensitivity, Senzo’s Amplified Lateral Flow (ALF) will for the first time bring Lateral Flow price, speed and convenience to some of the world’s most deadly diseases, without sacrificing accuracy.

By moving the diagnosis of these targets from the laboratory to surgery, pharmacy and home we will increase the number of cases diagnosed, at an earlier stage of infection, thereby improving treatment outcomes and reducing mortality rates.
