What happens if you test positive for tuberculosis?

If you test positive for tuberculosis, your doctor will likely order a chest X-ray or a CT scan to determine whether you have active TB disease. If you have latent TB infection but not active TB disease, your doctor may recommend treatment to prevent the latent infection from becoming active.
