Is a tuberculosis test a blood test?

There are two primary types of tuberculosis tests: TB skin tests (TST) and TB blood tests. The TST involves injecting a small amount of tuberculin fluid into the skin, while the TB blood tests, known as interferon-gamma release assays (IGRAs), measure the immune system's reaction to the bacteria in the blood.
